.
How do I schedule a photo session for my newborn when I don’t know when s/he will be born?
Call the studio and let us know your estimated due date and then time can be block off around that date.
Once baby arrives – please call the studio right away (or assign a friend or family member to do it for you) – to confirm a date/time. Please remember newborns portraits are best done in the first 10days!! This is very important as a newborn begins to loose their ‘newness’ after this time. (Don’t get me wrong – I would LOVE to photograph your cute little one at any time! Newborn portraits are best done though in the first 10days)
.
Do you offer a “Baby’s First Year” package?
YES!!! of course!
We LOVE little ones…
Our ‘First Year Package’ includes a newborn session, one at 4 months, 7 months, and 1 year to get the full representation of your baby’s first year. The session fee (which includes all four sessions is $300)
You also have the option to purchase a beautiful, custom “Baby’s First Year” book featuring your favorite Smith Gallery images from throughout the year.
.
Do you offer classes or can you show me how to use my camera?
Yes… about once a year I open a class for those interested.

If you are interested, please let me know and I when a class date is announced I can then contact you.
I do offer one on one mentoring sessions – $100 an hour (with a minimum of two hours)

How did you get started? What kind of training did you have?
In college I searched for the perfect art form to express myself by – and after trying my hand and drawing and painting – with the help of my college sweet heart (now husband) I found photography. I can honestly say I at first didn’t know what I was doing at all! I never intended to start a business… I just knew I had found an art form I could be in love with. I bought my first SLR (a canon rebel) - read the entire manual, and anything and EVERYTHING I could about photography. I learned from my husband who had taken photography classes about all the technical aspects. He was a wonderful teacher.
We spent time shooting together, for friends, as a hobby. When a friend asked us to shoot their wedding we refused. After much begging we finally relented, and you could say a career was born. I applied for a business license that very week. I had found my calling. I have spent the last four years building my brand and studying my craft - all the while developing a deep passion for loving and serving my clients. I have honed in on my style… feel confident shooting in any circumstance thrown at me… and cannot imagine another career.

Where will we hold the session? Do I come to your studio? What are some good locations?
Once your session is booked, tell me about the kind of feel you want to your images or let me know which images speak most to you on my website and we can determine the best location for your session.
You are always welcome at our indoor studio -
or we will pick a location that best suits the kind of session you’re envisioning.
Or if you need ideas – just ask!! We’re always anxious to try new things!
.

with my personal printer recommendations on your image CD.
.
Where do you get your business cards, thank you cards, albums, books, etc. printed?
